The BAFTA 2020 awards men's evening suits were an wonderful mixture of classic designs and modern variations. Attending the 73rd BAFTA Awards held at The Royal Albert Hall were an array of men's Red Carpet suits that certainly showed that there are no hard and fast rules any more. With the 'BAFTA Bosses' urging attendees to "dress sustainable" they encouraged attendees to re-wear or hire their outfits. Here are a few of our favourites.
Black Shawl collar Evening suits
The shawl collared dinner jacket was a popular 'Winners' choice. Both Joanquin Phoenix, winner of Best Actor, and Sam Mendes, winner of Best Director (plus a few more!) chose this elegant rounded collar suit style. Mark Strong looked especially smart chosing to wear a matching black SB waistcoat and black bow tie.

Black notch and peak lapel Evening suits
The black peak and notch lapel suit was seen rocking the Red Carpet. Some of the famous wearers were Bradley Cooper and Rising Star Award winner Michael Ward. Bradley cooper wore his with a SB waistcoat. Michael Ward didn't opt for a waistcoat but he did wear the wide batwing bow ties.

Blue Evening wear
Blue evening suits are being worn more and more on the Red Carpet. The blue suit makes a subtle but interesting change to the the classic black evening suit. Worn extremely well by Winner of Best Adapted Screen play, Taika Waititi.

Velvet evening suits
Velvet evening jackets in rich luxurious shades have been seen up and down the Red Carpets. With lots of them appearing at The Golden Globes and now The BAFTA's I think we will be seeing even more at The Oscars later on this month. Shawl collars, peak lapels (of various widths) contrast trims, single breasted, double breasted it's all here. As worn by Andrew Scott, bottle green, Liam Payne, black, Oliver Proudlock, navy with contrast lapels, and Taron Egerton, dark damson.

One off statement suits aren't for the faint hearted, but, are perfect for the Red Carpet. Wanting to stand out from the crowd was a look for Alex Wolff in his teal and black brocade 3 piece suit. Graham Norton who always pushed the boundaries. Rafferty Law, Jude's son, wore a 3 piece black brocade. And didn't Kelvin Harrison look stunning in the wide peak lapel ivory evening suit.
