Golden Globes mens suits choices certainly took everyone by suprise this year. The mens suits were every bit as classic, stunning, eye catching and outrageous as the ladies dresses. With some choosing to keep it traditional and elegant, others chose to put a twist on the classic look. Alternatively there were some real 'out there' fashion statements being made too.
The Golden Globes was welcomed back on Wednesday 11th January 2023. The 80th Golden Globes awards were held at The Beverley Hilton in Beverley Hills. Hosted by US comic Jerrod Carmichael who I believe did the most outfit changes by a host ever, a total of 6 of them!
Opening the show in a rose pink blazer, pink chiffon shirt and pleated wide leg salmon-beige trousers. Jerrod then went onto change into a white textured double breasted suit with a sheer mesh turtle neck underneath. Before moving on to a dark navy flock/jacquard check suit. Plus a few others in between. All his outfits pictured here were by Atelier Cillian.
Keeping it classic

Black and classic, what more to you need in Golden Globes mens suits. Sometimes a black classic dinner suit is the most elegant way to go. Keeping it simple can make your look look timeless and effortless. Some of the Golden Globes mens suits doing just that were, Winner of Best Actor in a motion Picture Drama, Austin Butler who wore Gucci. Winner Jeremy Allen White wearing Dior. Sebastian Stan who opted for Lanvin to name but a few.

Adding a twist to classic Golden Globes mens suits

Adding a rich opulent velvet jacket over a classic dinner suit look is a great way of being a little different with out screaming 'look at me'. Adding a subtle twist by keep it in black as Golden Globes winner, Evan Peter did in Dior along with Henry Golding in Armani or Jay Ellis in Louis Vuitton. Alternatively you can opt for a colour. Boman Martinez-Reid went for burgundy, Matt Bomer an aubergine Ralph Lauren or Winner Paul Walter Hauser who opted for royal blue. There is something very luxurious about the look of velvet.

Golden Globes mens suits that made a true statement!
There were some really unique and diverse choices within Golden Globes mens suits this year. Some of the suits where hits, some of them were misses but they all made a true fashion statement. Below are a just a few of them that you may take inspiration from.

Billy Porter wore a real show stopper by designer Christian Siriano. The gender fluid vibrant hot pink velvet tuxedo dress with satin detailing ensured he really made an entrance!
Donald Glover wore Saint Lauren. A classic black peak lapel dinner jacket with extra wide lapels. By teaming it up with white extra wide, extra long trousers and a kimono style robe/shirt it really made a statement.

Jeremy Pope worn a full black leather Dolce & Gabbana suit. Underneath he wore a black mesh turtle neck top and Cartier necklace. He finished the look off with pointed black studded boots.
For some of you may not recognize him on the Red Carpet, David Burleson has made his name as the host of 'What's poppin' on TikTok with over 1.5 million followers. For his Golden Globes mens suit he wore a full sequin baggy fit outfit by Golden Goose, completing his look with an over sized shirt and trainers.

A pop of colour, and a great talking point

Adding a pop of colour with your suit can make you really stand out in the crowd. Andrew Garfield wore a burnt orange suit (with turn ups) and teamed with a black open necked shirt and loosely tied tie. Going for green were Diego Calva and Adam Scott who wore different shades and different accessories which made these twos looks appear very different. Seth Rogen looked amazing in a soft salmon pink suit by Dior complete with matching bow tie and cummerbund. Gabriel LaBelle chose a completely classic look, but in a pale blue colour.
Golden Globes winner Tyler James Williams just went for it. Wearing an Amiri blue tie-dyed, pin stripe suit with double pleat wide trousers. Taking colour blocking to another level were Barry Keoghan and Scott Evans. Barry in complete powder blue head to toe and Scott in total burgundy.
Some of our made-to-measure customers who also went for a coloured suit

Adding accessories to make a statement

Chris Perfetti, American TV actor and star of 'Abbott Elementary' went for a Maison Margiela black double breasted suit with a huge flower 'brooch'. Worn with full black accessories.
Eddie Redmayne opted for a full chocolate brown single breasted shawl collared dinner suit by Valentino, worn with a sheer mesh matching chocolate brown top. Valentino and Eddie added an extra large flower 'brooch' to complete Eddie's Golden Globes look. It was also noted that Eddie's trousers much wider and longer than we've seen for a quite a while.
