Royal Ascot suit for 2024 will you need one? This years Royal Ascot will take place between Tuesday 18th June & Saturday 22th June 2024. General tickets already on sale.

The dress codes for Royal Ascot have been respected, maintained and strictly up held for many years. It is still regarded as one of the great British fashion events of the year with everyone dressed in their finery. This is because the strict dress codes have been kept to such a high traditional standard. After all, it is known around the World equally both for its racing and fashions. You will find that each enclosure has a slight variation on its dress requirements.

Tickets for the Royal Enclosure are available to members only & their guests. Tickets by invitation will be available from January 2024. As of today it appears that no new or altered dress codes have been put in place for 2024.

Morning suit in black, grey or navy material
Include a waistcoat and necktie (patterns of a patriotic nature, for example a national flag, are acceptable)
Include a black or grey top hat (may be removed within a restaurant or Private Box. Top hats may also be removed within an enclosed external seating area, terrace, balcony, or garden)
Black shoes worn with socks covering the ankle

Gentlemen - Not Permitted
Please note the following are not permitted:
Customised top hats (with, for example; coloured ribbons, feathers or embellishments)
Cravats, bow ties and neckerchiefs

Please note the following are not permitted:
Novelty patterns and fabrics (including, for example; slogans, phrases, promotional messaging, brand logos or cartoon imagery)
Trainers
Denim
Leggings
Shorts

In addition to the guidance above, fancy dress, novelty and branded or promotional clothing is not permitted on site.

Should you be a Royal enclosure member or be invited by a member then you will have to adhere to a strict dress code. If you don't then you will not be permitted in to the Royal enclosure. There is also an etiquette that you must obey whilst in this enclosure with regards to removing your top hat and waistcoat designs or patterns. The official website states

"A gentleman may remove his top hat within a restaurant, a Private Box, a private club or a facility’s terrace, balcony or garden. Hats may also be removed within any enclosed external seating area within the Royal Enclosure Gardens. The customisation of top hats (with, for example, coloured ribbons or bands) is not permitted in the Royal Enclosure."

"Novelty waistcoats and ties are not permitted. Discreet patterns and those of a patriotic nature (for example, a national flag) are acceptable."

The Queen Anne Enclosure - Royal Ascot

Tickets for the Queen Anne Enclosure are on sale now. As of today it appears that no new or altered dress codes have been put in place for 2024.

A full-length two or three-piece suit. Jackets and trousers should be of matching material (morning dress is also permitted)
A collared shirt
A necktie (patterns of a patriotic nature, for example a national flag, are acceptable)
Socks must be worn and should cover the ankle

Gentlemen And Boys - Not Permitted
Gentlemen and boys, please note the following are not permitted:
Cravats, bow ties and neckerchiefs

The dress requirement is not as strict in the Queen Anne enclosure as it is in the Royal enclosure. Unlike the Royal enclosure you can wear lounge suits. Although you will still see a lot of tailcoats along side the lounge suits. We can provide a sleek modern slim fit lounge hire suit from our collection as well as the traditional tailcoat attire. All of our Royal Ascot suit hires come with slim fit trousers for a more contemporary cut. The price to hire a complete lounge or tailcoat is *£195.00. Alternatively a 2 piece suit is *£125.00.

This more relaxed enclosure lets you dress in a less formal way. There are far less restrictions than you will find in the previous two enclosures. Although you are still required to wear a jacket and trouser combination it doesn't have to be a suit. Waistcoats are not necessary and cravats and bow ties are permitted.

To hire a 2 piece lounge suit is *£135.00 & a complete outfit at *£195.00.

The Windsor Enclosure

Whilst there is no official Dress Code for the Windsor Enclosure, Gentlemen are encouraged to dress in smart day wear. It is recommended that Gentlemen wear a jacket, collared shirt and full-length trousers.

A far more chilled out way to go to the Royal Ascot races. Although as it states above there is no dress code it is encouraged to try and keep this event both smart & elegant.
