Finding ways of making the Groom stand out from his Ushers can be a little more difficult when choosing a dinner suit wedding. Never fear, we have a few ideas and suggestions to help with the process.
Lots of Grooms are now turning to a blue dinner suit, as a change to the classic black dinner suit. Wearing a blue dinner suit adds a touch of uniqueness and personality to the groom's attire. The contrast between the Groom's blue tuxedo and the black dinner suits worn by the rest of the wedding party can create a visually appealing and sophisticated aesthetic. Some Grooms chose to have a custom or full made-to-measure dinner suit. The joy of having a suit made for you is you can chose to have something totally unique. Why not select a velvet or jacquard cloth to make yourself really stand out. Changing the style of your waistcoat is another option. Alternatively having the Ushers in bow ties to match with your bridesmaid dresses works as well.
Blue dinner suit to hire
In our hire collection we offer a shawl collar royal blue dinner suit. It has the traditional black satin trim on the collar, buttons and pocket trim. This slim fit style dinner suit looks great with either a black satin waistcoat or a matching one. A bow tie in black to pick up on the suits accent colour or a blue to match the suit fabric. Maybe for the Ushers their bow ties could be the same colour as the bridesmaids dresses. Finish off the look with a crisp white pocket square, marcella dress stud shirt, patent shoes and cuff links. Often our Grooms have added a pocket watch for a bit of bling too.
Hire suits with black satin waistcoats
With in our hire collection we offer Duchess satin black waistcoats in 4 styles. Classic single breasted, scoop, scoop double breasted and collarless double breasted as pictured above. We can offer additional waistcoat styles in our made-to-measure range.

Hire suits with matching waistcoats
Alternatively we can offer royal blue matching waistcoats. They are available in our hire range in single breasted, collarless double breasted and scoop styles.
As mentioned before, trying to make the Groom stand out from his entourage isn't easy when you're all wearing dinner suits. The real weddings pictured above have made a few subtle changes to allow them to do just that.
Mr Wall changed the bow tie colour of his Ushers to match his bridesmaids colour but kept himself in a blue bow tie to stand out.
Mr Beck went with a black textured bow tie and matching black pocket square putting his Groomsmen in to classic black bow ties and white pocket squares.
Where as Mr Dove changed his button hole in to ivory to match his bride leaving the Ushers in pink.
Ready to wear blue dinner suits
New to our wedding suit collection is our range of ready made suits. Although we do not hold stock of these we can get delivery within a few days. This midnight blue evening suit has an elegant and subtle shadow check design running through it. It is available to purchase as a 2 or 3 piece suit. Custom made blue dinner suit
What does it mean to have a a custom made suit? You can create your suit by choosing your cloth, style, design, lining, trimmings and fit for your unique outfit.
How does it work? You will be asked to try on a 'sample' suit and then there are 8 points which can be altered within the suit pattern at time of the production. From the chest and waist of the jacket to the width of the trouser.
A custom made suit is a more scaled back version of our made-to-measure suit collection. Having a custom made suit can offer you a lot of choice when designing the perfect suit for your special occasion. Choose from a selection of over 120 cloths, select your lining, melton, buttonhole colour and buttons.
Custom made wedding suits normally take approximately 12 weeks to come into us. This may vary at certain times of the year. Once your suit arrives we will contact you to arrange to have your first fitting. If there are any further alterations or adjustments needed they can be done for you within 48 hours.
Groom made-to-measure suit, Ushers in hire suits
Above are a few of our Grooms that treated themselves to a full made-to-measure suit for their wedding day. They chose to put their Ushers in to our hire blue dinner suits.
Mr Lone went for a made-to-measure wide lapel shawl collared dinner suit with a scollop style waistcoat. His Ushers wore our royal blue dinner suit with a matching collarless DB waistcoat. Choosing a white dinner suit to match your Bride and putting his Groomsmen in blue is a great way to really stand out. Mr Fisher had a MTM suit worn with a navy bow tie putting his Ushers in to our blue hires suits. By having his Ushers wear gold bow ties he stood out form his entourage and they matched in with the bridesmaids colour theme.
Made-to-measure blue dinner suit
With our made-to-measure suits you have full control over every aspect of your suit. The joy of a made-to-measure suit is that there are many more fit options are available for us to use to ensure your suit contours to your body perfectly. The options available are much more intricate, precise and detailed than you can reach on a custom made suit.
From the width of your lapel, the angle of your jacket and trouser pockets to the length of your vents. You can chose from an extensive range of lining colours and designs. I believe we can offer over 1000 different fabrics! Have your suit personalised on your melton and inside lining with your name, initials, wedding date or something a little more risque! down to the hand stitching on the buttonholes.
